How to get a D visa to Ukraine?
The D visa to Ukraine is a long-term visa issued for foreigners to enter for the purpose of processing residence documents in Ukraine. Therefore, in order to submit documents for obtaining a residence permit, a foreigner must have a D visa pasted in the passport and enter Ukraine with this visa.
Citizens of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Uzbekistan can obtain a residence permit in Ukraine without a visa.
Although the D visa is issued for up to 90 days, it is called 'long-term' because it is used in the process of obtaining documents for a temporary residence permit or permanent residence permit.
Where to apply for a D visa?
Documents can be submitted to Ukrainian embassies, consulates, or partner visa centers (e.g., VFS Global).
Usually, it is needed to submit documents for a visa in your country of citizenship or temporary/permanent residence. However, this is not always the case. For example, citizens of European countries can apply for a visa at any representative office of Ukraine. This option is also available for citizens of America and some other countries. We recommend checking the availability of such an opportunity directly in the place where you plan to apply for a visa.
The list of countries whose citizens have the right to apply for a visa based solely on their place of residence can be found here.
