Resumption of issuing e-Visas for entry into Ukraine: rules, countries, cost

On February 18, 2025, the Department of Consular Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine announced the resumption of e-Visa issuance for foreigners from 45 countries.

Previously, the issuance of e-Visas was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic and russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The e-Visa project allows foreigners from the listed countries to apply for and receive a visa online faster and at a lower cost.

Who is eligible to apply for an e-Visa?

Citizens of the following countries can apply for an e-Visa: Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Bhutan, Vanuatu, Haiti, Guatemala, Honduras, Dominican Republic, India, Indonesia, Cambodia, China, Kiribati, Costa Rica, Laos, Mauritius, Malaysia, Maldives, Mexico, Micronesia, Myanmar, Nauru, Nepal, Nicaragua, Palau, Peru, South Africa, El Salvador, Samoa, Seychelles, Saint Lucia, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Suriname, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu, Fiji, Philippines, Jamaica.

What types of e-Visas are available?

An e-Visa can be issued for the following purposes:

  • C-01 — Business;
  • C-02 — Private;
  • C-06 — Tourism;
  • C-07 — Medical treatment;
  • C-09 — Cultural, scientific, educational, or sports activities;
  • C-11 — Performing official duties as a correspondent or representative of a foreign media outlet.

What is the validity period of an e-Visa for Ukraine?

An e-Visa is issued as a single-entry or double-entry visa for up to 30 days.

If a longer-term visa is required, you need to apply through a Ukrainian consulate in the usual manner.

How long does it take to process an e-Visa?

  • Regular processing — 3 business days.
  • Expedited processing — 1 business day.

What is the cost of an e-Visa?

  • Single-entry e-Visa — $20 USD.
  • Double-entry e-Visa — $30 USD.

In case of expedited processing, the cost doubles.

What is the procedure for obtaining an e-Visa?

  1. Register on the MFA e-Visa portal.
  2. Fill out the visa application form and upload a photo.
  3. Upload the scanned document package.
  4. Pay the consular fee.
  5. Receive the e-Visa in PDF format by email.
Print the e-Visa and present it with your passport at the border when entering Ukraine.

What documents are required?

  1. A scanned copy of the passport’s personal data page.
  2. A valid health insurance policy (minimum coverage — €30,000).
  3. A document confirming sufficient financial support.
  4. A document confirming the purpose of the trip (in Ukrainian or English), such as an invitation from an individual or invitation from a legal entity or documents confirming family ties.
