What documents are needed to obtain a taxpayer card in Ukraine?

A foreigner planning to work, open a bank account, or conduct transactions in Ukraine must obtain a taxpayer identification number (TIN).

The registration number is assigned by the State Tax Service of Ukraine. Applications for this service must be submitted at the Taxpayers' Service Centers of the Tax Service.

In this article we will tell you what documents are needed to obtain a Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN).

Documents required for a foreign national without a residence permit (no TRP):

  1. Valid foreign passport;

  2. Notarized translation of the passport into Ukrainian, plus a copy;

  3. Copy of the page showing entry into Ukraine within the last 180 days or a copy of Ukrainian visa.

Non-residents can obtain a TIN only if they are legally present in Ukraine.

Documents required for a foreign national with a residence permit (TRP) in Ukraine:

  1. Residence permit in Ukraine (temporary or permanent) and a copy;

  2. Certificate (extract from Diia app) of registered place of residence in Ukraine and a copy.

Foreigners with a residence permit do not need to submit a passport translation to obtain a TIN in Ukraine.
